Job Alert: Program Facilitator May 2024

Intersections Wood Collaborative (IWC), a non-profit wood working shop in Owen Sound, is seeking an individual to support a grant funded project for 8 weeks from May 27 to July 20, 2024. This position is 35 hours per week. The wage is $16.55 per hour. The location is our shop at 299 10 St. East Owen Sound. The application deadline is May 20, 2024.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized "people person" connecting youth and seniors who are learning wood working, and making things together in our wood working shop.

Assist with planning activities for the summer program and planning other workshops and events.

Participate in IWC summer marketing and fundraising events and help with other IWC activities such as open hours.

Assist the shop steward to ensure all materials and supplies for each session or workshop are available

Where needed work along side youth and seniors participating in wood working sessions under the guidance of a qualified Instructor.

Open and close the shop and welcome and assist members dropping in or using the shop

Other duties may include assisting with keeping the shop clean, organizing tools, organizing shop library, assisting with tool or wood inventory or basement organization.

To be eligible, youth must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
